Solution Delivery Services
Solution Delivery Overview: Solution Delivery Excellence
Solution Delivery is an end-to-end partnership with our customers, starting with business problem identification and leading to the design, development and deployment of uSEP solutions. In fact, our solution includes any associated processes, methods & procedures, job aids and workforce training and any assistance required with the conversion of existing data. AmberNet’s Solution Delivery Excellence ensures our solutions are delivered successfully to meet scope, timeframe, budget and quality requirements. This allows service providers to realize the business case benefits of our solutions. This enables Customers to meet the demands of an increasingly competitive communications & virtualization marketplace.
AmberNet’s Solution Delivery Excellence promotes timely, cost-effective and high quality delivery of superior systems capabilities. The goal is always to meet or exceed business objectives and facilitate a competitive advantage. AmberNet works to minimize the time-to-market for your new communications services while maximizing the quality of our solutions.
Of course, over time, business requirements change and evolve. AmberNet recognizes the importance of training and empowering the customer's IS staff so that they can enhance and extend the solution as needed. The uSEP product architecture is a key enabler of this ability to extend the solution.
Solution Delivery Models
There are two main models by which we deliver uSEP successfully to our customers. Other models are possible depending upon individual customer requirements. The diagram below illustrates these two models:
Direct Professional Services
Professional Services teams are available to lead the delivery of AmberNet products. They can effectively leverage the Cartridge Development Center, Consulting Services, and Training and Support services to enable rapid, cost-effective and high quality Solution Delivery. When AmberNet’s Professional Services team assumes prime responsibility for Solution Delivery, AmberNet may take either full responsibility for Solution Implementation and all ongoing Solution Support, or undertake a mentoring and knowledge transfer program during the Solution Implementation phase. The latter approach ensures that the customer's resources, or those of their selected Solution Delivery Partner, are sufficient to manage the responsibility for Solution Implementation and ongoing Solution Support. This model is shown in orange colored boxes and lines.
Sub-Contract with Customer’s Chosen Systems Integrator
AmberNet provides supplementary Solution Delivery, Consulting, Training and Support services, while still leveraging the Cartridge Development Center.
Solution Delivery Considerations
There are several considerations that CLIENT should understand prior to initiating solution delivery:
Solution Delivery Phasing
AmberNet will work with CLIENT to prioritize their service/technology phasing strategy to meet business requirements. To manage delivery risk, solution delivery can support multiple sets of services/technologies within managed phased releases with separate acceptance dates. These project phases can be executed in separate work streams, to maximize focus and to pragmatically manage the inevitable delivery risk associated with supporting a large number and diverse range of new and existing services/technologies.
AmberNet will work with CLIENT to determine the appropriate delivery path for each project phase. Typically, AmberNet has more responsibilities during the earlier project cycles, while the initial framework is being established. AmberNet recommends that appropriate product training should be taken.

- These considerations can enable CLIENT to reduce overall timeframes, costs and risks typically associated with solution delivery for any solution delivery path.
Solution Delivery Approach
The following outlines AmberNet’s standard solution approach. Professional Services will leverage our experiences at multiple customer sites to customize the approach to suit CLIENT’s solution.
AmberNet’s solutions combine “best-in-class” foundation technologies with Solution Delivery expertise. AmberNet’s Solution Delivery Services embodies six key life-cycle phases:
Phase One:
Solution Definition
During this phase service providers define and position their system as a tool for achieving enduring competitive advantages. The activities in this phase are critical to high-quality Solution Delivery because they ensure that our customers’ system capabilities are properly prioritized and exploited for maximum business value. The completed Solution Definition will provide a detailed set of prioritized business and technology requirements, a clear system architecture direction and a comprehensive set of project plans.
Phase Two:
Solution Development
This phase is a process for analyzing, designing, constructing and testing the new system capabilities. AmberNet focuses on the best use of technology and “best-in-class” software engineering approaches to maximize quality and minimize engineering timeframes. Our goal is to develop a solution that meets the defined requirements and provides a system capable of meeting future demands. Solution components can either be developed remotely in AmberNet’s CDC (i.e. “Cartridge” software) or on-site at the customer location (i.e. “Custom” software) depending on business requirements and reusability considerations.
Phase Three:
Solution Implementation
During this phase, the newly developed solution moves from the development and test environment to full production system use. This phase will be completed when the solution capabilities have been successfully configured, integrated, tested and accepted by customer user and I.S. representatives and a suitable Rollout Plan has been approved to allow the system, business transformation (see Phase 4) and data conversion (see Phase 5) phases to be cohesively coordinated and transitioned into a production operations environment.
Phase Four:
Business Transformation
This phase focuses on integrating the system into a service provider’s broader operations environment, including the processes, methods and people required to use, operate and administer the system capability in a production environment. The Business Transformation or “Change Management” phase therefore transitions the existing organization so that it supports, interacts with and makes best use of the new system capability to ensure that the planned business performance benefits are ultimately met. More specifically, the Business Transformation involves developing business processes, methods and procedures (including any required Job Aids) and training to enable users, operators and administrators to be successfully oriented, trained and transitioned from existing practices and system interactions to new practices and system interactions which will fully align the customers business operations with the new and improved process and solution architecture.
Phase Five:
Data Conversion
This process involves identifying existing data and/or collecting baseline physical and logical data from existing systems or by physical audit for population into the new system database, and validated ready for production usage. Typically a sub-set of the total data conversion effort can be used for the purposes of solution acceptance during the implementation phase.
Phase Six:
Solution Rollout
This phase focuses on planning and managing the activities required to create operational capabilities for each geographical/functional user community according to business phasing requirements and constraints.
Program Management & Administration
In conjunction with the planning and execution of the above phases, AmberNet’s Solution Delivery Program Management & Administration services will focus on directing, coordinating and monitoring the activities outlined within these six phases to ensure timely, cost-effective and high quality business results. AmberNet provides a set of tools and techniques to guide all phases and activities through the entire life cycle - from conception to realization.
Program Management & Administration activities ensure that priorities, resources and contractual commitments are effectively managed, and that individual project deliverables are completed within the agreed scope, effort, timeline, risk and requirements. AmberNet works closely with service providers and their staff to ensure that internal business groups and external critical dependencies and risks (outside of Solution Delivery Management control) are effectively managed from a process, technology and people perspective.
